Using the Squeezebox. I also downloaded the desktop app, which can be used with pure music's hijack feature. So far I am a lot happier. While there are less titles as yet, my tastes are well represented in Nordic jazz and finally having CD-quality streaming. MOG could have been this marketspace and the user interface was great. But given a choice between the same two interfaces, I'll take the service that delivers uncompressed music, thanks you. Worth and extra $10/mo for sure.

But I am really disappointed with the content in TIDAL thus far. The search function via ickstream needs a lot of work as well.
Until things change, I will be keeping Spotify, which has the TRIODE Pluggin, which is great. The Spotify Sound Quality is as good as MOG was, and is satisfactory.
TIDAL needs some work on its library and features for me to be a permanent subscriber. I'll be cancelling in the next couple months.
Cut-Throat
It sometime returns only 30 'albums' for a given query. For example, when 'Bruckner' is entered in the TIDAL search box 30 albums show up.
When 'Bruckner' is entered in the QOBUZ search box you will see over 800 'albums' come up (some duplicates, granted).
Enter 'Bruckner Jochum' in TIDAL, you get 23 returns and when you enter 'Bruckner Barenboim' up pops 23 more, so perhaps there are a few hundred Bruckner titles on TIDAL, if you know how to find them.
The library is limited. The search has problems no doubt, as I mentioned. But it is lacking a lot of what I listen to. Maybe the classical is fine.
Cut-Throat
Classical is spoty. Many albums I bring up are grayed out which means they don't have clearance to stream them. I like the sound but need to try different searches to see if I can get what I want

Not as great of a catalog as QOBUZ or even Spotify or MOG used to have and VERY hard to figure out how to find things.
Do like the having a shot at the Chandos catalog again though. ;-)
Every version of ultra-lounge christmas cocktails and then some. Easily 20+ albums of swinging, lounge, hipster holidays. Which is just what the Dr. ordered tonight with some icy cold drinks...
I suspect that the ickstream developers are working hard behind the scenes now to build a better search functionality. It may take a few months to have a more granular search ability, but the service is still in beta. They also apparently had to rebuild a huge library for the US due to licensing restrictions and som of the WiMP titles are not yet entered. Again, public beta. If they offered a radio style playlist as good as Pandora's I'd quit Pandora One today.
I agree with you in principle, but the Triode plugin uses a proxy that would not allow me to use the Inguz plugin with RC filters and MOG did not, so I could use it. Tidal streams in FLAC, so as far as I can tell, it will work with Inguz. I am just dipping my toes into dedicated player software with Purevinyl, but I love the ease of use of the squeezeboxes. So for casual listening I will continue to use LMS. So for me that was the deal-killer on Spotify. And the standard plugin has an equivalent search function to the current ickstream. So the decision for me was pretty easy. I would have stayed with MOG if I could have.
I liked MOG as well. Tell me more about Inguz.... Does this function like Tone Controls ?
Cut-Throat
Yes. It has a multi-band parametric EQ that you can set the number of bands for, and provides a convolution engine for RC or speaker correction filters in .wav format. You can use freeware to generate filters or buy a package as I did from acourate. Although, you can just use the EQ by installing inguz. The plugin also supports ambisonic decoding. It is a brilliant bit of coding. Have it running on a 7.9 nightly from a month or so ago which also has DSD transcoding now, so you can play .dsf and .dff files with on-the-fly conversion.
I got Inguz installed on my Win 7 Desktop in LMS, but LMS keeps saying "Get Silverlight" on the LMS screen. Which I have done. I can't seem to get the display that I see on the Inguz Website. Here http://inguzaudio.com/usage/plugin/Also, in searching the NET, it seems that no one is currently supporting this pluggin for quite awhile.... Am I correct?

Hugh stopped supporting it awhile back, but has added some fixes and compatibility features developed by others. Frankly, there isn't really anything to support. The code is clean and it works, once you get the install working correctly. There is a bug in the code for a couple of the html items. I know it can be a little frustrating, but it is worth the effort.Once thing you can try is to restart the LMS twice. I managed to get it working seamlessly under XP on my old laptop with LMS 7.8. Question: Are you using IE or another browser? I seem to recall that I did get it working under Firefox with some effort and I will try to remember what the key was, but the silverlight problem was known. You can try using IE, which as I recall worked with no problems immediately.
A lot of wisdom in the following thread to help you get up to speed:

But no Cable TV so let's call it even, OK? :-)
But the good news is as of today I have TIDAL up and running on SONOS. It's new so you must subscribe to the SONOS Beta program to get it.
That may mean the end of Spotify for me, as SONOS as there is little reason for keeping it now that TIDAL is running on the SONOS.
QOBUZ has a much better classical music search function (search by record label, for example) so I may have to keep QOBUZ and TIDAL.
Also, TIDAL has the CHANDOS label and a couple others which QOBUZ not longer has in it's catalog, for some reason. But QOBUZ has the whole NAXOS CLASSICAL ARCHIVES catalog up for streaming. Just enter NAXOS CLASSICAL ARCHIVES in the search box and bingo, 800+ entries to choose from.

I don't have cable either. And the Hulu+ and Netflix streaming subs I do have I never use. Trying to decide which one of those to cancel. Although, it is wintertime, so maybe I will wait for warmer weather...;) Oh, who am I kidding. It's warm enough here right now (40's) for some cycling and I'd rather do that than sit and watch tv, as I am sure you appreciate.
But that's close to year-round riding here.
Trek Madone DuraAce Disgrace(triple crank) is pictured above, complete flipped up carbon stem and the new '0' Tour de France Winner decal on the seat tube. ;-)
Without outside, it's a lot harder to share the pics of our other hobbies/toys without mod attention. That is a very nice ride! I'm going to have my '77 Raleigh pro on the street with a ground up resto this year.
Only rider to win the Tour on a Raleigh is pictured above. Second best rider of all time, IMNSHO. Finished second in the tour a record six times and then went on to win the world championship at age 39.
I started looking at the Tidal website then got distracted.
What is their monthly subscription fee? You said $10 "extra" so it that more like $20/mo? Is there an option to pay for a full year?
I'm listening to Spotify almost daily in the background as I work. I like it a lot but wouldn't mind giving Tidal a try.
What is the Pure Music hijack? Is that something I need to download, or part of Pure Music? I'm using Audirvana Plus at the moment. Thanks!
It's a built in feature. Like Audio Hijack, it can take over a stream as a source and you can control it with the PM interface. I can't tell you more, because I am not yet operational here. I still need to route a firewire and a USB cable through a wall to the i/o interface and DAC for use with PureVinyl and my table. I read about the feature in the manual.A nice feature in PV is the ability to also switch different sources on the interface, so I can have a tape deck or a tuner running into the interface and can set each for gain, RIAA, etc. per source. This means my system will be all-digital and every source will be able to enjoy acourate room correction filters, including the analog ones by way of the Audio Units plugin. I just need an analog switch box to toggle between my tuner and my Nakamichi on inputs 3/4 on the impact twin. Nifty. I look forward to evaluating how vinyl sounds this way vs. through my former Classe Dr-6R with TKD stepped attenuator. I suspect that the advantage of the NAD's high-bit depth digital volume control, DSP RIAA and RC will trounce the old hot rod. Now I just need a new table and cartridge.

I do the same. If you go to Tidals webpage, click on Menu, there is a Try Now for free for 7 days. I have no association with them. Not real wild on going from Free all the time to $240 for the year.

Or a special bargain subscription rate of $375 per annum if you live in the UK. Woopee. I'm signing up right now. NOT.
How do you get Tidal to work on the Squeezebox?
a plugin from ickstream which is now in open beta. The service functions like mysqueezebox.com, by linking your media services and proxying though their api. The interface is still pretty limited, but they promise to have it sorted fairly quickly. And it is just as fast as spotify or MOG for search and access. Who says the squeezebox is dead?
I use Pandora with my Roku 3 and want to get music from my smartphone to my Mustang speaker system, any ideas?
Vista Ultimate 64 bit/e5300 Intel 45nm cpu/ASRock G41M-LE/Asus Xonar DS R 7.1/YamahaRX-V465 HT receiver/ Infinity RS1001 & Cambridge SoundWorks speakers/Yamaha YST-SW216 subwolf
Does your Mustang have an 'infotainment system' / navigation, or USB audio interface?
If not, you might need to resort to basic AUX audio input if it has one, driving it from your smartphone headphone output.
Otherwise maybe bluetooth if it has that capability.
Nice color, btw!
