Thanks for your response. I'm trying to recover from an error right now...it's been 4 hours and 20 mins... so I don't want to stop and start over right now
I did rip some cds (about 45) before opening the box set and I did come across a couple of errors but nothing like what is going on with the box set I try some more rips once I recover the data from "Momentary Lapse of Reason"..... to see if the errors continue.

what the heck! Sounds like a bad ripper, but there is a small chance that it could be a bad set disks. External rippers are cheap, so run, don't walk to the nearest MicroCenter/Fry's or wherever and try another one.Does this ripper work on other pc's or laptop's??
Have you tried the internal disk player in your target laptop. What happens there with the same process?
Like Carcass stated, some errors don't mean much if they happen infrequently when using secure rip mode, but with that amount of time lapsing, sounds a bit more serious.

Better yet, different drive - built-in in your laptop, etc.Audition the result, paying close attention to points in time where errors supposedly occured. If you don't hear any glitches, compared to playing disk - I would disregard the errors.
