after several years of using a computer source - finally learned how to put album art in the library manually. I have a lot of covers to fill in.
Follow Ups:
Just my personal opinion and experience but Amazon to me offers some of the lowest quality artwork out there. with iTunes youncan always use the Get Album Artwork function under Library and that will fill in a lot of the blank spaces of missing artwork but it doesn't embed the artwork with the files. There is a workaround to use the art retrieved by iTunes and embed it but if you have lots of albums it can be laborious.
As I started to say I think art on Amazon is low grade and while it is fine for display on mobile devices if you ever wanted to display your artwork on a large computer monitor or HDTV as I do the shortcomings and flaws will become very apparent.
My favorite site is www.albumartexchange which has consistent quality and lots of selections unless you are a classical music guy then the selection is more limiting. Google Images will usually provide higher quality results than Amazon.
One's I've used to good effect are:
= Allmusic.com
= Amazon.com
= scanning my own album covers -- obviously more work
The artwork so discovered of produced can be loaded or with some programs, cut & paste in the music player or catalog system.
For Classical music, Allmusic.com is the best source since it includes many albums no longer in print.
I love the music of ... ... Gustav Mahler
may be found here. They have covers in several resolutions.
You're not the only one, who's late. The vast majority of installations I've seen run a total
mess when it comes to albumarts and tagging and structuring (dirs/files/filenames/genre/...).
These databases usually show high grades of inconsistencies.
It's IMO no real fun to work with inconsistant databases, crippled tags and missing albumarts.
Most people don't realize the importance of it in the beginning.
By the time they realize the mess, they neither can't go back nor
they're willing to get things straight. It'll take huge amount of time to get and keep all that under control.
The majority is not willing or even able to handle all that properly. At this point streaming services @19.99/month enter the scene... ;)
Enjoyable Computer Audio is not just about finding the right DAC!! ;)
Enjoy.

What library management software are you using (iTunes, JRiver etc)? What sources are you using for your artwork (album art exchange, others)?
