Sure doesn't look like there is anything on that board that would re-clock anything. Looks like a power supply and nothing else.
Did you not already remotely power your USB device? If so I am amazed this would make any difference at all. Looks like the garden variety three pin regulator implementation to me.
Just noticed the two "i"s which with German pronunciation would be more like "shoot" than shit.

I knew my heading would get somebody going . . .
The device is not just a PS, it's a one-port USB hub. My understanding is that USB hubs reclock by definition; the clock for the Schiit's output port is reportedly better than most. Given the quality of most USB circuits (inc hubs), that's not necessarily saying much but it seems to be enough to make a difference here. (As I'm using the device to drive an asynch USB-to-I2S converter, the USB clock should, in theory, not matter but, as we all know, it does.)
SoTM and others sell similar "re-clocking" devices though they're typically PCI/PCIe> USB cards at (in SoTM's case) four times the price. They have been well reviewed; fmak has reported favourably on the SoTM.

Those who know what they're about can implement three-pin regulators really rather well despite their modest cost. I've not seen a schematic or specs for this circuit so can't meaningfully comment on it - but, for the same reason, neither can anyone else.
I bought it for my "back room" system, not the "front room" one as I didn't expect it to have much effect on the latter. To my chagrin, it did. The bad news is that I'll probably end up buying two of the damn things, ordering the second one three days before Schiit release the simply magnificent Mk II version for £5 less.
"I'll probably end up buying two..."
From the bottom of our hearts and wallets: Thank you.
And if two are good, wouldn't three be better? America's balance of trade, especially in consumer electronics, is several orders of magnitude beyond horrible so it just toasts the cockles of my heart to see a dyed-in-the-wool foreigner actually buying something from folks who are just down the road from me, relatively speaking...
The product looks very good to me and if I were using a USB DAC anywhere I'd buy one in an instant. It simply doesn't take an enormous benefit to justify the cost.
Regards, Rick
$300 doesn't help much.
But Schiit is one those those relatively few companies that charge realistic sums for delivery; unlike those who advertise on eBay charging $30 for a $25 item!
"But Schiit is one those those relatively few companies that charge realistic sums for delivery"
Exactly! And I admire and want to support that. Engineering appeals to me more than mysticism and GOOD value engineering takes the most skill, judgement and experience.

1. SOtm
''The SOtM tX-USB is an audiophile PCI to USB audio card like no other. This audio card has a unique design incorporating a power line noise filter. It then has individual ultra low noise regulators to power the usb devices attached, the on board ultra low jitter clock and the on broad PCI host controller''
Just because there is a new clock does not mean automatically that D+ and D- are relocked.
2. Decrapifier
There is no detailed description. One or two inmates have talked about relocking, bur reconditioning D+ and D- actually entails more than injecting a 'cleaner' clock signal.
3. USB hubs
In computing, these multiply the number of ports.
'The SOtM tX-USB is an audiophile PCI to USB audio card like no other . . bla bla bla . . . '
Marketing guff w little relation either way to the card's engineering merits.

Hmmmmm. Who says and who knows[?] I didn't comment on its quality; I mentioned only that you liked it. Did I do something wrong?
The pic of the Wyred on Schiit's web site seems to show an Xtal. If there's no reclocking, what is it for?
There is no detailed description.
Quite. The corollary being that neither of us knows for sure. My approval of the device relied on (a) its low cost and (b) listening to it. My experience echoed Steve's despite his kit being in a different league to mine.
In computing, these multiply the number of ports.
This is true. In this slightly unusual case and for perfectly proper reasons, the multiplier is one. That at least was explained on Schiit's web site.
what are the engineering merits if one doesn't know exactly what it does on 'relocking'?
SQ merits, yes; engineering merits, an opinion not based on principles of operation.
There are chips on the underside!
