Pretty much all laptops have USB ports so if your DAC supports USB, you can use a USB cable.
Many (Mac) laptops also have a combo Mini Toslink (optical) & 3.5mm headphone audio jack. For that you can use a Mini Toslink to Toslink adapter or Mini Toslink to Toslink cable.

It is not that difficult
2 devices can only communicate if they share a common connection.
So what are the outputs of the PC and what are the inputs of the DAC.Some PC's and all Macs do have optical out (Toslink)
If yout DAC has a Toslink input, this is a easy way to connect them.
If your PC doesn't but for sure your DAC has a SPDIF input, a USB to SPDIF converter will bridge the gap.
