Google to the rescue, once again! It seems the SOtM media servers are pretty nice pieces. That mini for $449 has a lot to offer for the money...

There you go! Yes, I am sufficiently impressed that I would look higher in their line when the need arises. But the Mini Server is remarkable at under $500.

What DAC are you using? What is your opinion on the sound compared to your other players?

Bob
Bryston BDA-2, Auralic Vega, and for a bit of DSD a borrowed iFI Micro iDSD.
Hard to compare as they are being used in different systems, and each has different outputs, for instance. SOtM outputs USB only.
It is very, very good. probably as good as the MiND on most levels.
Using LMS? How are the different applications? Look like the software pretty much open source.
No, MinMServer. A far, far superior server software. LMS was not designed to work well with large libraries. I have tried dozens. The more stripped down they are the better they work.
What apps do you use for minimsever? I like ipeng for LMS. I have not see similar level apps for minimsever.
You can use any control app with MiniMserver on both iOS and Android.
I use Audionet, BubbbleUPnP, the Simaudio app, the denon and marantz app, mConnect, and even the Linn app. All work great. No limitations that I am aware of.
