Yes, I know. But those mods are a bit complicated. I use the EDO, which disables the analog outputs, an even bigger improvement than killing the screen, and allows for 192 Khz streaming.

That is an advanced option with any Touch. You choose what to see when unit is off and what to see when unit is on.
Yes. I just kept the screens on. I used it as a clock.
I have just put a Wyred4sound Remedy reclocker on my SBT and it's like having a new transport. Really good.
So, I can either replace the unit for $450 with the SOtM (and later buy a better power supply) or invest $399 (more than I paid for the Touch) to improve it.
Now I wish I were an audio reviewer and could get samples of each to compare!
Thanks for providing yet another approach to improving the performance.
Clocking is only one issue..there is so much more that goes into making one of these units sound great. An outboard reclocker involves another digital cable and power supply. Never a good thing.

There appears to be a difference of opinion on that matter by more than one individual.
Clocking is obviously important but so is a clean digital path and output.
I am also using EDO. TDak Power Supply., External DAC, Sound Check Mods. I have 114db Oris Horns and I cannot detect any 'noise', so I wondering if this would be any upgrade for me??
Sounds like a good set up.
By "noise" I do not mean any external noise like tube rush or a humming power supply. I can't think of a single source that actually makes noise.
The noise I refer to is the INTERNAL noise inside the unit possibly caused by cross talk, EMI/RFI etc, which will then translate to a sort of subtle glaze on the music, especially in the highs.
It makes me chuckle when reviewers talk about "jet black backgrounds". Even an iPod has black backgrounds.
