I use a Mac Mini for a music source and it is at 10.6.8 and iTunes is vs. 10 something-or-other along w/ the former Audirvana Plus. Should I upgrade the Mac Mini to Mavericks or Yosemite and then iTunes and then get the latest Audirvana? I don't want Audirvana's Library just the new player. Let the opinions rip!
Follow Ups:
Mavericks or Yosemite work best with the newer Macs with at least 8 GB of RAM. Yosemite works and sounds very good. The new Audirvana Plus 2.04 just addressed sound quality with the latest version 2.04. But to benefit from this, you should be using the new library management interface. It sounds better than using iTunes.

Is there an upgrade path from Audirvana Plus 2.0? Or do you have to shell out $74?

Yes there is an upgrade fee of $39 if you have your original sales number.
I have the order reference, but I haven't bought it, yet.
I searched on the net and didn't find much about the new library management interface, but what i did find suggested it might be complicated for me to set it up. Not only do I lack knowledge about the ins and outs of recording and play back, I also have a few "mangled" recordings where, for some reason, only the track recordings appear in ITunes, and i had to fill in the other information off the top of my head, like the artist and in some cases the name of the tune.
Do you have a URL that explains the set-up, or do i have to buy it and then read the instructions? I am just not sure it's worth it for me, balancing the hassle against the improved sound quality.
In some cases, I also don't know what format the tunes are in.

Here you go:
I already have 2.0 and it works great in conjunction with Itunes.

2.04 is an update, so yes to your question. I find the new file management library to be a little funky; not as good as JRiver. But 2.04 sounds very good.
