I have AV+ 2.0.1 downloaded but not yet installed. I read the documentation but I'm a bit unclear on how Audirvana Plus 2 will handle my existing iTunes library.
- The preferred option is by adding folders to sync with AV+, according to the docs. Can this be a top level folder from my existing iTunes Library? Whenever new content is added to the iTunes Library, will this auto-sync to the AV+ Library? Am I understanding this correctly?
- The other method is to 'import' the iTunes Library. Has anyone tried this method?
In both cases above, is AV+ actually copying files to it's own Library essentially taking up twice the necessary disk space?
Is there a legacy mode whereby AV+ does not attempt to do any Library Management but bypasses Core Audio and lets iTunes manage the Library as in previous versions?
I may play with AV+ 2.0.1 on a secondary system with small iTunes Library before trying it out on my main setup.
Thanks!

Abe,When you install the program, it will ask if you want to use the iTunes library or the new library management.
If you use the new library system, you will have to direct the program for the Source, and let it import. The library can be run in an Album mode with album covers, or a simple list representation.
The Album view has bugs in it. It doesn't grab all of my Artists in order.
I don't know if it is necessary to delete the older version. If you use the new library, you might have to.
You can continue using the old system with iTunes with no disruption of your Remote App function. There presently is no remote function for the new library view.
If you use the new library, it will automatically add new titles as you add them to your drive. It does make a new library file to keep track of all of this.
I would either use iTunes mode or the new library with direct import of your files."Is there a legacy mode whereby AV+ does not attempt to do any Library Management but bypasses Core Audio and lets iTunes manage the Library as in previous versions?"
Yes

Good info Steve. Thanks!
I'll load AV+ 2.0.1 and continue to use the old method and existing iTunes Library. I'll wait for a couple more software updates before braving the new library system. Thanks for leading the way and taking some lumps for us. ;-)
I did have one issue when first installing 2.0. Maybe things are better with 2.01. Somehow the new library became corrupted and the program would crash. I had to delete numerous files in the OSX library to reinstall 2.0.
Waiting is not a bad idea Abe.
I'll stick with the original plan and try it first on a secondary system. Thanks for the warning.
