In Reply to: RE: JRiver 20 ) USB ) OPPO 105D posted by Artoa on September 11, 2014 at 04:54:16
I have no problem streaming to the OPPO Asynchronous USB Port. That has never been the issue. Pretty straight forward - download & extract the USB OPPO/Windows Driver Files & install. What I cannot do is use the JRiver Audio Engine. JRiver "sees" the OPPO 105D and lists same on the left side of the JRiver screen. However, OPPO>Options>Audio displays no Audio Options to select from.
When I select DirectStream>Options>Audio an extensive menu of options is available.
I wish I could express myself better. Thank you for trying to help me. Perhaps the attached screenshots may help?

Is this the uSB connection to the Oppo?
The Well Tempered Computer

Looking at your screen shots:
DirectStream is over USB, hence all JRiver DSP options are available.
Oppo BDP105 is the connection over DLNA.
You can play to the DLNA device but no DSP options are available.
This is by design.
JRiver is thinking about implementing the audio options even in case of DLNA renderer.

I wonder if you have that backwards? The OPPO settings do not recognize DLNA - cannot configure for the OPPO. Whereas in the case DirectStream, I can configure JRiver to use DLNA.Here are the screenshots for the DirectStream setup. If you compare to the OPPO screenshots (earlier post above)you will see what I am referring to.The DS setup photos below are in the same order as the OPPO photos (above).

I am assuming you already connected the oppo to the dlna server, right? From the oppo main menu-> network,...

Yes

Looking at the first 2 screen shots.
You select Zone Oppo
You can't configure the audio options, it points you to the Media network.
There you can configure the DLNA properties.
This I do think "normal", you can't configure the Audio options in case of DLNA
If you select Zone DirectStream you can configure both Audio and Medianetwork.
This is a bit strange. The only explanation I can conjecture up is that both the DLNA and the USB driver of the PS Audio use the same name.
What is missing is a connection to the Oppo over the USB, that is the one where you can configure the audio options.
If you create a new zone e.g. Oppo USB > Playback options > Audio device; you should be able to sect the USB driver for the Oppo
