So , last night while cleaning up all the unnecessary additional file extensions I added ,
because I did'nt realize that Windows was just hiding them, my finger slipped & hit the wrong
key. Windows proceeded to give me an alert that " renaming a file extension may cause
the file to not be recognized".
I was immediately reminded of a "Dirty Harry" movie where Clint Eastwood is holding his
44 magnum in front of somebody's face & saying " A man's gotta know his place...feeling
lucky punk ! ".. I actually would have settled for a response key that replies "No Shit ! I'm
only fixing what I added because you Friggin hid an extension that existed"
Well, at least I admit that I have ""Anger Issues" w/ "Artificial Intellegence" sources.
& in the long run I end up realizing who is being "Artificially Intelligent"
Follow Ups:
That Windoze "feature" of hiding known file extensions is what facilitated the "I LOVE YOU" virus a few years back that cost home and corporate users billions of $$$ in damages worldwide. The email attachment was "I LOVE YOU.jpg.bat" with the ".bat" being hidden.
That is one of the first things I change on a new Windoze install along a with a few other default Windoze settings.
While computers (and all consumer electronics) don't care what kind of day you are having, I am convinced they have a sense of humor!!!
"If the audio industry built gear that sounded as good as it did 50 years ago, there would NEVER be a need to re-issued anything!"
I sympathize. I too have known the frustration of an OS that keeps doing not what I wanted it to do, but exactly what I told it to do!
All the Best!
