Logitech phone support.... not so good, unfortunately.
First it takes three numbers to get to someone who is the right person to ask about Media Server.
I keep getting routed to the Philippines and frankly these guys all sound like they are a few bricks short of a load.
The question... 'does media server work on Mac OS/X Mavericks' is a real stumper and the guy has to go spend five minutes looking up the answer.
Seriously, if your job is to support Media Server and you don't even know if it runs on a MAC.... GET ANOTHER JOB.
I keep hoping there will be a replacement for the Touch someday, but all we get is more two thousand dollars servers with built-in dac's I don't want or need.
So, being careful here... are you running Media Server on a MAC Mini with OS/X????

Follow Ups:
I have had two minis (at home and at our cabin) both running LMS, going trouble free for several years. I use iTunes for ripping and library management, LMS can be set to look for "new and changed media", say sometime in the middle of the night.
Been running LMS on a Mac Mini Mavericks with no issues, and on a Mac Mini for 3 years straight. Don't sweat it.
Thanks. I've pretty much decided to pick up a Mini tomorrow or whenever I get downtown.

It is a ver good computer. Word of advice...max out the RAM..FireWire drive recommended....you will need peripherals...comes with zippo...wireless keyboard and mouse...external DVD drive etc.
If you pick it up..pop back on for software essentials.
install linux on an old PC, use that. They run like water heaters, only need to reboot every dozen years.
Mac recommendation though, yes get it. I haven't used LMS on Mac but it works and it should work according to their web site. It is just a perl script I think, no problem. MacOSX is based on the Darwin Kernel, related to Linux/Unix. More Unix though... kind of like FreeBSD which is what runs AudioAsylum last time Rod M told me.
