Assuming one has a self powered USB DAC, will this be the solution to allow folks to move their music PCs (somewhat far) away from their USB DACs with (hopefully) little or no sonic penalty??? Will a Async I/O type USB DAC work properly through such a cable??? Looks interesting...and would be interesting to see how Async I/O USB DAC works and measures through such a cable.

Corning does not get into detail about the power supply situation at the remote end.
It seems that they expect a hub at the remote end. I'd guess that the hub is mainly supposed to feed back 5V to the receiver.
Hopefully it's sufficient to feed 5V with a T-adapter.
Cheers
So I wonder if something like the iFi iUSB power supply would work for the remote end.

Rich, you cost me money! ;) Ordered one last night...I'll be able to report sometime by the end of the month. I sure hope it works well. Even if it doesn't work well with my DAC, maybe I can use it to place my HDD farther away...
Cool! Will be interested red to hear how it works for you.

Well...It looks like it will be July before I can report...They have not started shipping from Corning yet.
Don't know about the power issue. The Corning website just says you can use an adapter at the female A end. Still worth investigating I think.
I know a couple of these products by Adnaco and Icron.
This one is pretty cheap compared with them.
Rich, thanks for posting
