The older I get the more I appreciate the music that was playing on the radios in the '70s. I was born in '70, so I was sort of 'synchronized' with each generation. Child in the 70's. Teen in the 80's... etc. Helluva time to grow up!Genesis, Supertramp, The Who, Led Zeppelin, CCR, Pink Floyd... the list goes on and on. Some days I just like to play those flash-in-the-pan radio hits like "Drivers Seat" by Sniff and the Tears (1979) over and over. Or one of my favorites from 1969 "I Got You" by the Split Enz. Or "Love is Like Oxygen" by Sweet (1968).
Other days I play way too much Sabbath and Pink Floyd and "There's No Way Out Of Here" by David Gilmour.
It's amazing how music can take you back to different times in your life, and sometimes it's not even all that pleasant! But, even the bad memories are still memories I suppose...
With the right music you can make depression an artform.
Some days I make playlists that I can't even play all the way through!Sometimes I laugh and say to myself "H0ly Sh1t, that's way too depressing!"
Then I play Loverboy and suddenly forget what all the fuss was about.
(The 80's music thing is a whole other discussion...)Cheers,
Presto
