Using Jriver 19, I can't get output sample rates higher than 48k going via USB (rear connection) to my Marantz SA8005. All works well until I play a hi-res file sampled higher than 48k. Makes no difference whether using ASIO, WASAPI, Kernel. I have all outputs set to "No Change" from the input rate. From Windows control panel I have the exclusive mode options checked. I can't think of anything else to try. (One observation: If I open the Marantz ASIO driver control panel there is a sample rate selection box (greyed out) that shows 48000.)
Thanks for any suggestions.

If anyone cares the problem was the USB isolator that I attached to get rid of a persistent hum from my speakers when using a long USB cable from my PC (I get no such noise using the same cable on my laptop--go figure). I didn't realize isolators like I was using are bandwidth-limited. So, back to figuring out another way to get rid of the hum/buzz. But at least I know the driver is okay and the audio works as it should from the Marantz.

Thank you for posting the problem/solution. So many times the OP goes away once the issue is resolved and we never get to get educated.
Oops, we should have asked about your whole signal path..the isolator would have been an obvious flag. My bad.
I wonder if a shielded cable would do the trick; or maybe its the 5V...maybe just cut the 5V power on the USB (not permanently...try the tape trick). Although I gotta think maybe the Marantz needs to see the power for a handshake (if not for powering the USB receiver chip). Best solution, of course, would be to get the source (pc) closer to the DAC (Marantz).
Brody:
Curious what isolator device you were using?Indeed, many (most) of these devices limited USB data transfer speed.

It was an Olimex USB-ISO. It certainly worked to quiet the noise. Too bad these things all seem to be limited-bandwidth.
Thanks for the update. Maybe you should ask about the hum issue? Are you using a shielded USB cable?I had a hum issue with my laptop music server that was solved by changing out the power supply brick. They use switching power supplies and some can be noisy.
With the noise being when on PC, there could be interference from somewhere else.

No, I'm not using a shielded USB cable. I decided to see how a cheap one would do (not so good as it turns out). I'm going to try to rearrange my space so I can use a shorter cable. Actually, the cable with my laptop works fine, even plugged in. My problem is at the PC end. I asked about the hum issue a few posts down but I may try to resurrect the thread.
See attached link to thread discussing SA8005--especially posts from voltz. You should verify you have latest (upgraded) driver.
Thanks for your response. I actually got my driver from the same guy "voltz" likely got his from, after I heard the original drivers were bad. I think the Marantz sites have been updated with newer drivers, and I've tried those too. Regardless, it does seem to be a driver issue.
(New problem: Now I can't even get the drivers that WORKED before (albeit at 48k) to load and show up in control panel. Think I'll go bang my head against the wall for a while.)
Thanks to all who responded. If I ever get it figured out I'll report back.
Are the JRIver device choices (tools -> options -> audio) somewhat generic (WASAPI, etc) or are they indicating that JRIver truly sees your Windows Marantz driver (would say something like "Marantz 2.0 ASIO"). I'd reboot the server once you choose a Marantz driver entry. The 48k limitation sounds like a generic driver is all that is being seen by JRiver.
This is a Windows 7 machine, BTW.The choice tools each identify the Marantz driver, so it seems it does see the driver. How do you mean "reboot the server?"
One other observation: The Marantz manual has a screenshot of the Windows Sound control panel with a drop down box listing several sample/bit choices (88000/24, 96000/24, etc).
My actual control panel shows only two options in the drop down, the 44100 and 48000 options. This does not seem right.

Reboot = Turn it off then on.
Did you install the SA-8005 Windows USB Audio Driver? If not, you can download it at the following website by clicking on "Downloads."
Thanks, I do have the driver installed. It works to send audio over usb I just can't get rates higher than 48k to work.
