So I finally got around to hooking up my new CD player to my computer via USB. Driver and audio work fine, but I'm getting a loud hum/buzz from the speakers. I'm guessing this is PC noise or ground loop or both? My USB cable is longish (15') and very basic. Would a better cable help or do I need some sort of USB isolation device? In either case, is anyone using a better cable or isolator that they would recommend? Thanks.

I managed to solve the problem with an Olimex USB-ISO USB isolator. Works great so far.
Follow-up: While it's true the Olimex worked to eliminate the noise it limits bandwidth so it's not really a good solution. Would a shielded USB cable help? Any more ideas would be welcome.
Are you using the USB input on the back of the unit? I assume you are; if you are using the front input, pretty sure it isn't meant for PC input.
I have an SA8004; could swear that I read somewhere about a 12 foot max USB cable, but I can't find it in the user manual.
If you have a shorter cable, try it.
What else is connected to your system. My buzz came from the cable box.
The only other items connected are an amp, preamp and Sonos zoneplayer. I wonder if it's just my very cheap USB cable?
to connect a laptop to a Marantz NA-7004 with no problems at all.
Yes, USB into the back. Thanks.
