I understand why you want everyone to focus on the 5%... that's where you make your living. A $2,000 usb/spdif converter??? That's just ridiculous.

they only ever do one thing, redbook audio level playback....

You can't plug in your DVD player, Blu-ray player, DirectV box, comcast box, etc etc......

And no one needs to say that you can get this stuff through your computer, - it just doesn't work.....

The external USB to SPDIF interface gives you so many more options in a world where things are changing a lot...

Besides, (in the case of the HiFace), quality cables at cheaper prices are much easier to come by than expensive USB cables). Eliminating cables is a good thing...
