I say screw Isreal and "Palestine". Why is any of this a matter for our concern? If these two "Peoples" can't keep from killing and imprisoning each other then we should simply step in and take control of the entire region in the interest of world peace. Let's see how either side likes the idea of "Mother US" stepping all over the area with some serious firepower and declaring marshal law. Both sides here are behaving like a bunch of spoiled, irate children. I say give'em a good spanking! The only topic more uselessly annoying than this is that of "Reparations". What kind of idiot is roaming the earth with the notion that this is a good idea? I didn't enslave these people. My parents didn't either. Nor my grandparents. In fact none alive today was around for that sad time in out existence. Anyone looking for reparations is a loafer, loser, crybaby asshole looking for a free ride. Go to Africa for a few months and you will realize just how much better off things actually are here for you and your children. You want to fight for equality in todays world then I might take up arms in your support. You want to stand around wailing and bawling for compensation over some injustice done to people you've never met then kiss my butt.
Oh yeah, While I'm at it, to heck with indian reservations. Never mind the fact that these people deserve no special treatment in my eyes, they certainly do not deserve to become rich in America(casinos?) and not be subjected to taxes and the law of the land. They lost the wars a century ago and that's that.
Follow Ups:
I too tend to say screw both Israel and Palestine and I couldn't agree more when you say "Both sides here are behaving like a bunch of spoiled, irate children." However, I stop WAY short of imposing Marshall law in the region. Walking away (from them AND the oil) is more my style. Let them fight it out for all I care. However, my suggestion was only intended to spark creative tought to a difficult situation. Perhaps it could evolve into an idea that would be of benefit to all involved (Americans, Israelis and Arabs). Maybe...The idea of reparations is really a totally different subject, I believe.
