I hear those childish spank hungry punks are protecting the everglades ... maybe you can give them a piece of your "wisdom".

If I ever met D, our conversation would be much more likely to revolve around the superiority of Klein bikes to that trash he rides.

about the whole political spectrum in the United States. I'm an expat living in Finland, haven't been Stateside in 13 years, but my how things seem to have changed.

He is also a pretty good guy, rather well read, only splits from the right wing when they go off the deep end. Claims to be a moderate. Be that as it may, for all practical purposes, he is stuck in the right wing mold. He has a Whitman like turn of the 20th century belief in the righteousness and primitive power of the United States, turning a blind eye to how corrupt it has all become and refusing categorically to face the hard work of generating solutions to our national mistakes.

...for as long as I have been hanging around the outside, dennzio sided with the right wing here, and will only split from the pack when the right wing does something phenomenally egregious ... in these rare occasions, he will slip away and wait until time has erased the memory ...then it is back to his normal complaints about liberals having turned our values on their heads.

Not even close. By the way, you are a member of the military industrial complex...no?

A nation must have a robust military defense, especially if you are going to lead the pack. That does not presuppose a philosophy of it's utilization. Mine does not agree with the current administration's. The technology that I work on can be used for peace or for war. I would hope that it be used for peace, but this is only marginally my decision. If you are an engineer, you are probably in the same boat. Hell, if you farm for a living, some of your crops may feed military personnel, so should you stop farming? We all share in the guilt for the actions of our nation, some of us prefer to look down and make believe there is no reason for that guilt, but not me.

which comtinually result in the deaths of hundreds of southand of innocent civilians every decade. since ww2 the country you develop waepon relayed systems for hasn`t gone a decade without killing hundreds of thousands of innocentsthis decade Iraq.

I agree with you however, we have a lot of blood on our hands. We all have a lot of guilt.

the world doesn`t hate canada or europe it hates the States and with good reason.as far as wide scale military conflicts with the likes of china i don`t see it happening as the economies are too intertwined.
china is going hell bent with its military to protect its access to resources cause it doesn`t trust the US to play fairly and who the hell can blame them?
the real danger to the likes of me is when the avian flu virus mutates and allows for the easy spread among humans.
to date it has had a 76% moratility rate on those who`ve caught it from infected birds.
while I`m a bit worried about my kids future I`m gonna jsut keep partying on, while I still can.

... history shows that when it is gone, we won't like it.But, as you say, we can do a far far better job and we should make no excuses for our mistakes, which are numerous.

and hopefully most of the major damage will take place among those who deserve it the most.and we all know who those who people are.
7 more years I`m 50 which allows me to retire in a place like Thailand or Malaysia.
20 grand a year and you`re living pretty damn well in those parts.

I do research in robotics and other things. Scenarios include search and rescue, not search and destroy. I try to avoid actually developing weapons designed to kill. And you?

I worked with a "conservative" wanna be "progressive" once. He was an alright guy in most ways. One thing was for sure however, he did not want to put too much thought into anything, only what was necessary in a pragmatic sort of way. Politics, well, he voted for Bush for not to dramatic reasons, just a civic duty you know, like going to church.

You try desperately to demonize (knew you'd like this word) your superiors, but everyone is on to you, don't you know? Your MO here is widely known, and credibility is not something you possess in this particular forum...perhaps the Water Cooler will suit your needs...your equivelent, duilawyer, does quite nicely there.

entering some of your efforts in a photo contest.
Of course, be warned that sunrises, sunsets, puppies, kids, and rainbows create a special feeling in most judges'...something similar to heartburn, headache, gas.
More seriously, this is one FINE effort. Really.
You have gobs of natural talent.
Now, think of what your first, second, and third photo options would be before you click..and then move on to the fourth. Make yourself think outside the box. That's how you move from beautiful to artistic.
Granted, you must develop and hone the skill to shoot on sight (you seem to be pretty damn close) like a zen master archer---it's a subconscious thing.
Hey, keep this up and you can leave your day job.
Bravo!

now he will have to live, sleep & breathe photography like me.
I'd like nothing more than to quit gainful employment and snap swimsuit models and landscapes but it likely won't happen.Trouble is I shoot like I bowl. Few weeks ago I break 200. People ready to league bowl are watching me, then I barely break 100.
I was driving and came upon a car stopped dead in the street. As I was going around I saw a gal out taking a photo. I thought something cool must be up to stop in the middle of the road so I looked around. Big old rainbow but I didn't like her vantage point.
Hauled ass up to some high ground and popped a circular polarizer on my lens, (somebody told me somewhere that a polarizer would make the colors pop.
Anyway I got several shots of the bow with and without filters. This one was my favorite because of the tree and rocks providing perspective.
I just printed up a 13" x 19" and it's destined for a frame. I may send out to a lab and get this one 16"x20" for me or my folks.
Again, thanks for the comments.....it's tough to say something nice about somebody on the other side of the fence. Glad to know some things are exclusive of politcal boundaries.
Not at all, I keep politics in perspective. Some of my best friends are conservatives :--))
