    Anyway, we're the only country back to pre-Bush-recession GDP levels, we're still #1 manufacturing country in the world, the costs we pay to borrow money is less than it was during Reagan-era, (meaning that the rest of the world still believes the US to be the safest place to invest.)

      Only because the Fed is artificially keeping interest rates low..... I believe that comes to an end in June..... Then we will see where interest rates go.

      and others did the work. Sold out and sold the commercial properties and kept the rentals for added income. So, your fantasy is just that... etherware.

        You may be too! If Medicare goes belly up so does the hospital you go to. Hospitals would be forced to close their doors if not for revenues from Medicare and Medicaid.

          I use the Vet's hosp. In case that goes belly up we have contracted with a Dr to care for the GF & her sisters, for a few more bucks he will care for me. Meanwhile My savings are not in the US and are not in US currency. I am a foreign owned corporation!
          The SS that I get we use to buy wine and assorted adult treats.
          I am prepared as well as I can be and last year we bought two homes in a far part of New Zealand.
          One is the care taker's place and the other is a wedding gift for my son and his fiancee. Push comes to shove and we are out of here.
