I probably have no business telling this and I apologize to Brian if it turns out being unfounded and releasing your personal information, but I used to swap emails with Brian quite a bit. Brian gave me a lead on a possible candidate for a job that my organization has and it turned into a running conversation.
Recently Brian emailed me and told me he sold his cattle ranch and was moving on, not knowing where or what exactly he was going to do and that he'd email when and if he could. As we all know Brian lost the last of his living family recently.
The other guy who we're looking at as a candidate just emailed me and told me he heard Brian took his life. The guy did say he heard it through the rumor mill so I pray to God that he's wrong.
If anybody knows anything at all or can dig any information up please let me know. I have to fly this morning and don't have time to make the requisite phone calls or emails.
Brian if you're out there get ahold of me and man oh man I hope this is all wrong.

I was friends with a young guy on another chat last year. A group of us were late nighters, so a lot of conversations during the Vampire hour. I knew him for about two years and the group chatted daily. The kid (24)was a paramedic and got a dream job with the a fire department in Virgina. Good looking kid, reasonably intelligent, new JEEP, good paying job, lots of hot lady friends, etc.
One day two Aprils ago, his parents posted a note on his MYSPACE page saying that he had shot himself in the head. Evidently, from the replies by friends that were on MYSPACE, it was over young lady.
I knew a girl in 8th grade that shot herself a year after that, at a DairyQueen.
Shit happens.

but based on the email I got, who it came from, the conversations I've had with both parties, Brian and the author of this email, and the last email that Brian sent me I'm very scared that this is the God's honest truth.
Believe me I hope it's wrong and I'm the stupidest looking bastard on Planet Earth.
If you were looking at Brian's last email that he sent to me and had received the email that I got and I know the guy as Brian put me in contact with him you'd be thinking the same thing.
I'm hoping someone else got something similar or just flat out knows I'm wrong. The guy who sent me the email is a candidate for a job we're offering and bullshitting me about this is not a good way to get hired. When the facts line up it doesn't look good.

and don't think I'd post this if I thought it was incorrect. I wanted to sugar coat and deny but every hour that goes by it's harder to deny. I don't want to post his last email to me but it now makes sense.

if you are wrong. I hope to hell you are...If you are right, I wish him a better journey this time around. This is a very depressing thread John, I too had some dealings with him a few years ago...no big deal really, but I feel like I know him....

As RW says, there isn't a classier guy on this board. No one, least of all someone of his character, should have to endure so much sorrow and pain.
in the first place, EH should never have posted his concern here, full stop. Rather, he should have checked the obits privately and if still not satisfied, contacted thunders privately as it was common knowledge he had had private communication with Brian and being a lawyer has the ability to look into what at this point is just a rumor. Bruce should delete this thread till thunders looks into it and gets back to us.
and working on a very short schedule. The email definitively states that Brian is dead and that the author didn't know the details of where or how and that's what the "rumor mill" was about. When and where.
You know, I hope to God it's all wrong but I'm sorry. I don't believe at this point that it is. I'm waiting on a confirmation email.
Believe it or not I appreciate your concern for Brians feelings and believe me I wouldn't have posted this if I wasn't at least 99% sure and I'm even more sure now.
If I'm wrong I'll fall on a giant sword and beg forgiveness from Brian Moye.

The email says he sold his ranch to his workers (which Brian had told me) and drove off with his horses. I'm still hoping to God that this guy got bad info but I'm also hoping to God Brian is alive and well in some hotel somewhere in the Grand Canyon and will see this and respond.Edited to add that I received the email on Saturday.

I'll do some checking when I get into the office tomorrow and hopefully get some contact information where I can call him.
I'm reading it seeing it was a goodbye. At least in hindsight. I'm at the air terminal and appreciate any info if anyone gets it.
