My MP 1 has the upgraded power supply and is blowing the main power fuse, 2.5a, about 5 seconds after the power switch is turned on, about the time you normally see the offset LEDs illuminate. Checked all tubes, found 1 bad one of the regulator tubes , but not the problem. Any suggestions prior to sending in for repair, maybe the filament diode bridge?

Any progress on this?
You aren't far from me as I'm in Saginaw..If you need help with it,just come on up as I'm off from teaching for the summer. It sounds like your B+ rectifier diodes may have shorted and those are easy to check and replace.
Honest amplification is better than excessive 2nd order distortion anytime.
What do you mean by that?
The solid state supply, not the one with a tube. I am the second owner and the previous one sent it back to you for the power supply upgrade.
I would remove all the tubes from the preamp and see if it still blows the fuse. I'm pretty sure you have a power supply problem though- nothing to do with the preamp section.
You refer to the fuse that is next to the AC cord inlet?
Yes, the one by the power cord.
I think it's tricky to trouble-shoot this type of problem "at home" without risking new damage to some part of the HV supply or to the filament supply. If your MP1 is like mine, then the output (circlotron) stage is separately fused and its fuse is inside the PS chassis, so this must have to do with either the HV or the filament supply. You might also check the integrity of the output stage fuse, but in the end, I think you will want to send it back to Ralph. It's remotely possible that Ralph can walk you through to a solution via a phone conversation, so try that first. No matter what's wrong, Ralph has an instant intuitive understanding of his gear and has "been there, fixed that".
May require a slightly higher fuse rating but call Atmasphere and ask, they are very helpful.
