Hi thanks for the reply's I would love to use a pair of m60,s but sadly these are way beyond my means. I was thinking of the S30 as there is one for sale not to far from me and as it is 10 watts a channel more powerful than my Graaf thought it would be ok with the 63's
If you have the quads in a smaller room they might be OK. I drove mine with some low power amps and found it unsatisfying. But they weren't Atma's either.
If you are going to run an Atma-sphere amp with the ESL 63's, I would suggest the M-60 as a minimum. I use the MA-1's and they match the ESL 63's better than anything I have ever heard.
You should contact Ralph the owner of Atmasphere, he will tell you. I do know, based on what a dealer has told me, it likes to see a very high speaker impedance (like 16 ohms is perfect). Depending on many factores, room size, how loud you lsiten, etc, I don't think the S30 will be able to drive EL63's but this is just a guess. Call Ralph!
