I know someone interested in acquiring this amplifier, and he would be willing to take a trek to listen to it in either Arizona or S. California. Thank you much.

Anyone who has built this amp:
How does it compare to other OTL's you've heard (if any)?
Anyone using it with cones? Do you get decent SPLs/bass from 90db spkrs?
Anyone know any technical details? (how much NFB if any? where are the 509's biased? Are they used inverted? etc.) Maybe someone could email the schematic? (Don't worry - I'll buy the kit if I'm going to build it). My email is my moniker followed by "@juno.com"
Also, has anyone tried it bridged? What effect does that have on the sound?
Thanx, Andy
The Mini-Beast was just recently released so only a few people bought the kit and build them.
Transcendent has their own discussion forum where the amp gets only the highest praises.
I notice the individual in question already posted a query himself on that forum...... No bites.............
He's thinking about buying the kit anyway........ I guess we'll see what happens. I'll definitely listen to it if he follows through.

Hi Todd - I recently built a "Mini-Beast" and can say that the sound is stunning. My system is: Turntable, Bottlehead Eros Phono Stage, Bottlehead Extended Forplay III, into a Marchand XM-44 electronic crossover, (and now) to the "Mini-Beast" for Mid and Hi Hz, with SETH 2a3 monoblocks, to the bass cabinets. The speaker design is called a Basszilla (Dick Olsher's design) with the Lowthers and tweeters running open baffle on the top driven by the "Mini-beast", with the bass cabinets driven by the SETH 2a3's. To me the "Mini-Beast" is astounding, immediate, detailed, plenty of information. I never knew what an output transformer (even a really good one) was hiding.
Hi Todd - I should mention that I have never heard any of the Atma-Sphere OTL's that most people on this forum seem to have so I cannot compare them to Transcendent Sound's "Mini-Beast".
Thanks for the reply. I think he won't make a move until he actually hears one. I guess in time, there might be someone local to enable an audition. We'll see what happens.

i just completed a Mini Beast. It is the first time I am playing an OTL amp. I am using at the moment within a basic configuration with Pioneer DVD, Sonic Frontiers SFL1, MiniBeast and Rogers GS1. (Monster cables)
I am quite satisfied with the overall sound, indeed.
The sound is precise fresh and I understand now when they say OTLs are fast.
The Kit is well done and pretty easy to built (if you have experience in DiY , already).
It looks like that also being only 4W can drive loudspeakers not so efficient (at least in my case).

I've got very little experience with this stuff, but I have a Transcendent grounded-grid kit preamp and like it very much. So I'm interested in the Mini Beast.
I have Boston Acoustics A150s rated at 90 db sensitivity (1 W at 1 m). I'm also interested in several B&W speakers rated at 88 and 89 db. I'd hate to invest in a Mini Beast only to find it didn't have enough oomph for my A150s or a future set of B&Ws.
So, how sensitive are the "not so efficient" speakers you've had Mini Beast success with?
Context -- I never listen extremely loud, though once in a while I like to rock out at a "feel the music" level.
Many thanks for any information --
Larry
Hi all ! I too just built a mini beast . Use it to drive a pair of tekton lore's (98 db). Fast , dynamic, smooth and with great bass . Never had a system with such a vivid and clear picture into the music.
