5692 is the milspec equivalent of a 6SN7GT, so of course it will work in the MP1, wherever 6SN7s are used. I'd like to know how you like the sound and what brand of 5692 you will be using. If you can report back, I'd appreciate it. I used to use the RCA red-base 5692 in an earlier preamp. These are premium tubes, but I found I liked other 6SN7s better just in terms of tonal balance, etc.
OK Lew I will let you know when we sit down in the next week or so to listen carefully.
We will be comparing 5692 vs. 6SN7GT Shuguang (Brown Base). The equipment lineup will be:
MP-1
M60MK3
Blue Note Stibbert CD
Eben X3 Speakers
Oracle Turntable
Tnx,
Rich

Hey Karel:
We will endeavour to seek true enlightment here!
Without a true 5 way all Horn system, I may have to meditate much longer :)
