I just got a ASL OTL headamp & man I dont thank I have ever heard any thing so pure sounding. And thats through Sennheiser 580 with a Arcam CD82 player. Anyway I have Cary Rockit88 right now with only 20 watts triod & it drives them pretty good. Is thare a OTL amp that would drive them ?? The Grand Pianos are 90 db with a 4 ohm load. I no with them being a 4ohm load is a problem. just whant some input Thanks.
Hi
I have Sonus Faber Guarneri Homage spaekers and use a David Berning ZH-270 and the combo is very good. If you look up in Stereophile they visted the SF Factory and obserevd that SF were using this amp and were told it was used to voice the SF Strads.
Cheers

frequentflyer the David Berning ZH-270 looks good. But to pricy for me thanks.
With an S30, you would have enough "power" per se, but you would want to use the Zero or Zero-type autoformer at the speaker side to boost impedance. It makes a world of difference. Don't be afraid of it.
Lew thanks the Zero-autoformer sound like a good idea.I called Atma-Sphere today left a message & had good a talk with Ralph then a while latter Bill called me they both sad the S-30 would work good with Paul Speltz ZEROs. Great guys. Makes me whonder what the Zeros whould with the Cary 88. Guess I need to do some reading.
the ZERO might help it a little but not a lot: you certainly wouldn't get any more power for example.
