I would like to build a circultron 1n the 10-15 watt range using the
6c33c-b. I think I saw that one pair of 6c33-b at ~165v would be good
for 25 watts. Anything wrong about running the 6c33c-b at ~110 to 120v.
120V or so should work OK. Power output will be in your target area. Have you settled on a topography?
Thanks for the reply. No I haven't decided on a front end. First
I am converting 4 230-110v auto formers to 110v to 130v transformers.
The autoformers I have do have 2 windings so this was easy. With
this 110 to 130 ratio 2 ideas come to mind. Using it as a 110v to 95v
transformer then a fullwave rectifier and a basic cap filter or
maby use a cap multiplier. Well at the rate I go it will be 2 or 3 months till I get the power supplies built.
Its likely that your input voltage will be more like 117V than 110V so your output voltage will then be 101V. Depending on the current available (so the transformer does not have a lot of sag) the final B+ voltage should work OK.
For that the transformers should be about 80VA at a bare minimum.
