I've been running M-60s for going on four years now with A/G Duos with very musical results. Regarding noise issues, replacing V2 with a shorted tube socket supplied by Ralph drops the noise level by some 12db, or so I was told. That's how I run my system on a daily basis with no apparent ill effects.

My speakers are not hugely efficient, around 93dB or so.. and I've always used the V2 jumper. I find that it seems to improve the bass, on my totally stock, original M-60 Mk.II (no revision level).I should get around to updating those things.. untouched since I built them in 97 or so. As usual, the shoemaker's kids go barefoot.
