I am in China and can't use my tickets for the 18th and 19th for Yuja and Leonidas in Santa Cruz. Interested?
Those concerts on the 18th and 19th appear to be concertos with a local symphony orchestra, the Santa Cruz Symphony (Brahms 2 and Prokofiev 5 - that's the whole program! - one night in Santa Cruz and one night in Watsonville) rather than recitals with Leonidas. Maybe Yuja is just trying them out before appearances with bigger-league orchestras (?). I remember talking to the conductor in Santa Cruz a few years ago where he told me to let Jon Nakamatsu know that if he were interested in trying new concertos in lower pressure situations as a "test run" before appearances with more prestigious orchestras, this conductor would be happy to oblige. Maybe Yuja got the word too?
I haven't talked to her about these concerts other than letting her know I couldn't make it. The program did change from it's original material. And I do know why that happened. But that is not for a public forum. Anyway best way, only way to contact me is email since my personal phone does not work in China
