The tenor is Charlie Rouse of course but I can't recall the bass and drummer right now. Likely this date was in Europe in the mid "60's
Follow Ups:
Charlie Rouse too.
Cannot place the drummer or bassist in the video, however.
NO MATTER what mood you are in, listening to Monk makes things better.
Shitty mood? Better.
Fair mood? Better.
Good mood? Better.
Great mood? Heaven.
There are few musicians that can convey the love of life, the joy, the excitement, the mystery,
the fun, the... involvement of life in their music so consistently and in such an ardent and unexpected
manner.

Monk was a mad man. Left us Jazz Music lovers w/ some phenomenal tunes.
The film " Straight No Chaser " the Monk documentary certainly indicates his mental illness. I remember reading that apparently schizophrenia and bipolar were ruled out. I haven't seen the movie in over 20 years but in retrospect I have to wonder if he fell somewhere on the Asperger's spectrum. Some of his behaviors and genius are somewhat suggestive of this.
I always enjoy Monk's music. I got to see Charlie Rouse perform in the mid 1980's.
"Blue Monk" is an incredible Jazz standard. It had been covered by many, many excellent musicians and never gets boring.
