She's kind of yelly. I notice that, like most, she skips the second verse, which, to tell the truth, is rather sappy in English, though most skip the second verse in French, too.
I sing this tonight during the Christmas Eve Mass, all three verses. I insist on doing the second verse in French because it reflect the preferential option for the poor.
One of my favorite versions is by Richard Verreau, a French Canadian tenor, even though he also skips the second verse. The English is a pale reflection of the French.s

Follow Ups:
It's a favorite for tenors,e.g., Pavarotti with the Wandsworth Boys Choir on Decca. Check out Georges Thill with organ accompaniment done in the 30's.
Unfortunately, I am a baritone, but people like to hear me sing it in our church. Georges Thill did a fine recording. Other top versions by tenors seem to me to be by Richard Verreau, Raoul Jobin, Jussi Bjoerling, and Enrico Caruso.

Or maybe this guy doesn't come from a hippie commune - maybe he was just inspired by Yanni or John Tesh! ;-)
