Had a couple of hours to myself this afternoon. Great cast, really excellent recording in a minimalist interpretation of the classic. RCA LSC-7027
Follow Ups:
I'm certain recorded originally by Decca.
These Rome recordings were actually joint efforts by RCA and Decca. On its face, it was a Mohr/Layton RCA production, however I believe the technical crew was provided by Decca, hence the unusual extra credit for Peter Bonelli as "Stereophonic Stage Manager". I believe that he worked for Decca, and that job title was never used by RCA.

Interesting and thanks. Indeed, I had thought that all of the RCA recordings featuring Decca artists were produced by Decca.
This never was a Decca/RCA co-production: only ever appeared on RCA labels (unlike Aida+Falstaff/Solti) and contained non-Decca recording artistes (except for Piero de Palma in a minor role).
Peter Bonelli worked for RCA Victor in New York...
You guys must enjoy making this stuff up!!
