Tony Bennett 90 years old. Saw him once live at the Fairmont. Caught him on the way to the men's room and told him he was great. Had him as a passenger once in SF. Very nice warm person, pretty much as he was when interviewed or on stage. The ride is a memorable experience. One of if not the best in my work experience. T
Follow Ups:
He was supposed to speak at the AES conference three years ago, but wasn't feeling well, so his son Dae spoke instead. He said it was the first gig his dad had missed in ages, and he had performed over 300 nights in the past year... at age 87. One of the greats.

Just unbelievable. I can barely get out of bed. When I picked him up it must have been around 1989. He had just been playing tennis with a 24ish girl. I gave him a free ride and he insisted I come in a North Beach restaurant and have lunch with him and his buddy Tony the restaurant owner. That was something. I must admit I felt somewhat out of my league. Just a little. T
Great story- T.
I really enjoy his "unplugged" show and SACD. Up until that moment in time, he had largely disappeared from the spotlight. That MTV performance put TB back on the map, with a newer generation.
