I'd like to get some Jazz for my teenage niece who plays clarinet. She listens to a lot of different music but very little exposure to jazz.
I'm thinking she might like Anat Cohen but other suggestions welcome.

He was sort of a pain in the ass, but boy could he play. I miss him a
lot. A lot.
Not exactly contemporary, but hard to not like Pete Fountain. Plenty of Pete is one of my favorites, although hard to find.

but Eric Dolphy was a real turn-on for me when I barely knoew anything about jazz.
So is Eddie Daniels, though he is not my cup of tea.
The most technically accomplished clarinet player I ever heard is
Buddy DeFranco. Listen to him and you will learn a lot - I mean, a lot.
He adapted bebop to the clarinet way back in the day.
My favorite clarinetist is Kenny Davern. His version of Pee Wee's Blues,
which you can hear at the link, is just sublime.
Here are good albums from each of them:

Eddie Daniels, great technique and a beautiful tone. Might appeal to a classical clarinet student.

What an excellent suggestion! I love Eddie Daniels.
I like Buddy DeFranco quite a lot. I don't think he got his due as he came up in the Be-Bop era when the clarinet was fading in the Jazz world. He passed in 2014.
Eddy Daniels is also very good.
I know you said contemporary but I think Evan Christopher is very good. He is more associated with traditional Jazz. He has played with the Jim Cullum band.
Phil
Don Byron is an excellent clarinet player. His album "Bug Music" is an homage to Raymond Scott. It was a very popular album in my house when it came out back in 1996.
You and/or your daughter can check out some clips at the link.
