If you like this sort of thing!
Worth a listen. Haven't found it anywhere but streaming but it MIGHT be released as a 2 CD set soon.
Hope so.

Still available from Arkivmusc as CDRs and highly recommended. I've had the CDRs for years, and they still play fine.
Kogan did not get the same support from soviet bosses that Oistrakh received, but to me he was the Heifetz of Russia. I heard him play Sanit Seans Rondo Capriccioso and Havanaise some 50 years ago in a recital, he was at his prime and performed these works technically just as perfect as Heifetz.

I don't have his Schubert album, so in the meantime, I have to content myself with Pouty Lips and J-Fi:
Of course, with J-Fi's set, you also get her performance on the piano (with Helmchen) of the F-minor Fantasy. Not even Pouty Lips could do that, and I'm pretty sure that work is not on Kogan's set either! ;-)
I was lucky enough to attend a Kogan recital as a young 'un. IIRC he played the Franck and Brahms G major sonatas, among other things. This Kogan LP cost me $2.50, though its average price on popsike is $89. Such "scores" usually don't mean much to me, since I don't buy to flip. But this shop had recently decided to set prices to ebay listings, and was charging $10-15 for scratched-up junk. So I was happy they didn't happen to see this one on ebay.
