In Reply to: RE: Hmm. . . I don't see anything "drug induced" about her expression posted by Chris from Lafayette on June 03, 2016 at 13:03:40
I am well aware of how local strippers and drug addicted girls look.
It's not about the coverage or length of a hemline.
Yuja's attire is always classy to my eyes. It might be due to her physical structure, too. ( some girls just look very cheap and from a wrong side of street without even trying ) Yuja always looks sassy. Not trashy. ( there is a fine line )
However, I can see this *trashy cheap* look can be appealing to some.
But my gut feeling upon looking at this shot is not entirely positive.
Then again, she could have looked a lot worse like Courtney Love.
It is a show biz. after all so I certainly understand a performer needs to create an *image*.

Interesting. If I may be so bold (and getting serious for a moment), would you mind sharing what line of work you're in? If you don't want to share this information, I completely understand. But is it possible you're seeing the look of drug addiction in certain cases when it doesn't exist? IMHO, Vanessa could hardly play at the supremely accomplished level she does if she were a drug addict, and an analysis of addiction on the basis of a facial expression on a publicity shot seems to me a bit like "shooting from the hip", unless one is an expert in such analysis.
BTW, I am not seeing the graphics (or videos) included in your post - don't know if it's just me or if it's true for others too.
I just find the looks of Vanessa sleazy and Yuja wholesome. That's all.
Drug addiction amongst young are every where these days. If you haven't seen those faces, consider yourself lucky. Upper middle class kids getting into an adult club working for easy money then eventually hooked on drugs either by a pimp/DJ or club owner is rather common. I know the several of friend's kids or friend's spending a fortune on rehab only to get back right on the addiction.
I know a friend's GF is a heroin addict. She has that blank look which reminded me from the photo you posted.
You don't necessarily have to be in that line of business to encounter drug addicts who would do anything for money.
I guess I just don't see the sleaze! ;-)
BTW, re the post above on Vanessa Mae: yes, I agree that's sleazy. I guess everyone has a slightly different threshold for judging sleaziness! ;-)
