It's been a long time since I bought a Hogwood recording, but he did several things (eg Messiah, Exultante Jubilate, Brandenburg Concertos) which were major milestones for me on my music appreciation journey and which I still listen to frequently. I will hoist a glass in his memory tonight, perhaps to the sound of his Mozart Requiem.
Happy listening,
Jim

Follow Ups:
My Favorite Mozart Requiem recording. I prefer the Maunder version that is used in this recording. The Amen is nothing short of pure genius.
I love how Hogwood used boys for the treble and alto too.
The first Mozart requiem recording that didn't sound like a huge oratorio barn burner.
it's about the music
