a very good documentary featuring several groups performing "live" and sporting many greats of the 40s. Billie Holiday looks beautiful--- and gives a mesmerizing performance, accompanied by Count Basie. Red Allen leads a group w/Coleman Hawkins and Jo Jones on drums that features many fantastic solos. And the treats go on and on. An interesting bonus: an ad for the Ed Sullivan that shows why he ruled for so long: his list of "guests" is amazing.
The sound quality of the DVD is more than adequate.
