I also misunderstood one of your recent posts, that's part of the Mix/Chaos.
I wish I understood the MD bashing- I like/love virtually all Jazz, and excluding any of the Greats ( and there are LOTS) just doesn't make sense to me.
Freddie Hubbard and Miles is twice the Feast.
Miles was Wife Beater, and Freddie got off one of the great
recorded ( Racist ) Rants ever, certainly on a Par with Buddy Rich!
And yet I love their playing.
Both played past their Prime, Freddie attempted a Comeback that was sadly lacking, Donald Byrd too.
Same in Classical Music and Sports.

killers or worse (Bose speaker lovers) amongst our very favorite composers and musicians and here we go along, blithely loving their work.
Lots of folks are good, even great, at their jobs or some activity but people are complex mixtures of yin and yang, good and bad, light and dark and often, in their lives can be bores, fools, racists, womanizers or the female equivalent, criminals, suffer from drug addiction, etc. Does this detract from their art, I don't know? Usually not for me.

Forgot to mention one other thing: I think we have all been schooled (for free!) in a couple of the finer points of the US legal system, thanks to John and to rbolaw. Thanks, guys! Who knew Isaac Stern could have been prosecuted for restraint of trade? I'll bet they could have gone after him with RICO too! ;-)
