I am not exploiting or enforcing anything. You can call celebrities whatever you want. Honestly, I really don't care what you call anyone while they're alive, but most decent people behave with a certain decorum when discussing the dead, especially in a tragic case such as this. There is a time and a place for your little "babe" joke, and many of us enjoy it, but announcing a death is certainly not the proper time for it.
This is not about PC or controlling free speech; it's about showing respect for a life lost too soon and suddenly.
You're right that I can't provide a single example that dead musicians are offended by what you call them.

When one assumes that calling an attractive person a babe is universally disrespectful then it absolutely is about being PC.
I was referring only to the dead person, specifically to the announcement of her death. I never wrote one word about universal disrespect; in fact, quite the opposite. You're the one doing the assuming, and it's absolutely incorrect. Did you even read the entire post?
Although I think it was perfectly clear, can you read a little more carefully before responding with accusatory nonsense?

In that post you said the following "I really don't care what you call anyone while they're alive, but most decent people behave with a certain decorum when discussing the dead, especially in a tragic case such as this." There is a presumption on your part that everyone agrees with you that using the term babe when speaking of the recently departed is disrespectful (universal disrespect). No doubt this is all about being PC since clearly Chris meant no disrespect towards anyone. You do understand that the certain decorum you speak of is all about being PC since there was no *actual* disrespect felt or intended by Chris?
