Difficult question - Some points to consider:
- I used to have the Philips recording of the Orlandos doing Op. 76 No. 4. AFAIR, it was one of the earliest CD's of the Haydn quartets. And I remember thinking it was very good. Somehow, I jettisoned it, but I don't remember why.
- Personally, I don't trust the audio quality on YouTube enough to take away anything but the most general impressions of a performance - just not enough audible detail for me. Of course, everyone's different, and some listeners may find YouTube sufficient.
- If you liked the Orlando Quartet, 3/4 of them banded together later on with a new cellist, and they are now known as the Parkanyi Quartet, one of the ensembles in the Praga series of Haydn. So, yes, you might indeed like that series.
- No ensemble will be the preferred choice 100% of the time. As much as I enjoy the Auryn Quartet's Haydn performances, my wife and I listened to the Peter Orth / Auryn Quartet performance of the Brahms Piano Quintet last week, and we both agreed that this performance was lacking in drive, compared to some other performances of the work. But I still like what I've heard of their Haydn (Op. 17, 33, 71, 74).
Hope this helps.

Thanks Chris. What I wasn't too enamored with what in the Youtube clip

was (it seemed to me) the use of a bit of rubato (note at the 32-33 second mark, but heard throughout). The Orlando achieved a feeling of drawing me into the music without that bit of personalization. Granted, it's very slight, but seems unnecessary to me.
You HAVE made me curious to hear that Orlando Quartet recording again. ;-)
