I just got this one (EMI, 1994). Are there better collections of her work?
Who are some younger artists that are following in her footsteps with this instrument (I dare not name it).
"Live free or die"
See Link. I believe there was an article about the two of them in clarinet magazine.I've met Ms. Meyer (had dinner with her), and she is charming.

She is the clarinet soloist on Nielsen's concertos for clarinet and flute. Have you heard this version?
"Live free or die"
No, but I have a friend who is a former professional clarinet player. She heard Sabine Meyer performing the Nielsen live and was absolutely blown away.
BTW - just to be clear, the flute concerto and the clarinet concerto are separate works.
Also check out Sabine Meyer during the Weber concertos on EMI. They're extremely enjoyable showy pieces, and she has a blast with them.

Sabine Meyer is certainly one of the finest clarinetists in the world. She was one of the first women to be hired to play in the Berlin Philharmonic, as well. Presumably she teaches in Berlin, so most players coming out of there would probably have studied with her. I can ask a colleague about specific names if you are really curious, I'm sure there must be some principal clarinet players in orchestras around Europe that would have studied with her.
I just meant great clarinet soloists who are still alive.

i really don't know the answer to your queston, but i uphold your opinion of her.i have her mozart clarinet concerto and it is sublime.
