Anybody have a favourite site or two to buy & download lossless music online?
I already know of www.linnrecords.com, www.naimlabel.com, www.gimell.com and Deutsche Grammphon, but because I live in Australia I can't use MusicGiants or HDTracks.
I'm looking for Jazz & Classical and my options seemed to be limited!
Thanks in advance :)
Regards,
Vlad.
You might try www.pristineclassical.com for vintage classical performances. Some of their Lp and reel-to-reel transfers are quite good.
they have decent stuff . I've bought the Debussy,Brockman and Vantage Point stuff so far.
I'll look into that one :)
Regards,
Vlad.
perhaps not what you had in mind as they're derived from old vinyl recordings and so largely contain what you'd expect though I still find some interesting and have grabbed The Chausson Concert in D Opus 21 and the Quartet from Toronto..
and along those lines though from argueably cleaner sources is High Definition Tape Transfers though again I have not investigated their accesability to Australia.

It's certainly worth looking into :)

do some google searches.

I can't get anything to work at HD tracks. I click to hear a sample and nothing happens. No music, no errors, nothing. I've emailed them but no response.
Thanks.. Yes I have googled it & its a bit frustrating not being able to use sites because of my location.
As I said in my original email I'm in Australia. HD Tracks & Chesky are limited to the USA - as far as I'm aware :)

Vlad.
vladimir, give it a shot notwithstanding what hdtracks say about territorial limitation . i am in singapore and have purchased music from them recently in flac format.
I'll check into it.

Vlad.
i didnt know these things can be regulated by region.

At least you were trying to help - thanks.
Not sure how they can be regulated that way either - or why [sob]
I suppose it has to do with the distribution of actual disks elsewhere in the world?
Happy listening - I'm jealous!

Vlad.
Here's another worth a look.

That site looks promising - they even have some 24bit 192Khz \
Thanks a lot :)
