Hi All,
Not sure if I'm the last one to find this out - I searched the Asylum - but the DG online store now has downloads in Flac format. So far only 182 titles, but its a start!
Hope this is helpful :)
Regards,
Vlad.
Is there any way to discover the bit depth and sample rate of a DG FLAC download before purchasing it?
Are they all 16/44?
Yes unfortunately, according to what I read today they're all 16/44 which is a little disappointing but better than 320 mp3s.
Regards,
Vlad.
is for iTunes to accept the flac format. If I live to see the day.
If you want to listen to them on your PC, foobar2000.org is a free and highly regarded piece of Windows software, and it will play FLAC files. It will also convert them to other lossless (or lossy) formats that can be uploaded to an iPod via iTunes, if that's what you have in mind. Or any CD-burning program can take the FLAC files and burn them as an audio (redbook) CD.
I can't play flac files on my iPod without converting them. That's the rub.
