There would be no loss of bass with my/Mye stands. The loss, as noted by Satie in another reply, is caused by lifting the speakers off the floor. Filling in the void on the SA's would help somewhat.
Follow Ups:
Looking at the pictures in the Mye sound gallery their stands rises the speakers ABOVE the GROUND TOO. They seems to provide a firmer foundation thou!
The thickness of the stands and points. Stealth option would nullify that.
Nothing at all like the higher SA mounting.
Grant has too much class to point out that his Mye stand provides support and stiffness to the whole Maggie panel, not just the bottom like the Sound Anchor stand, so I'll do it for him! The Sound Anchor design is great for Vandersteen 1/2/3 loudspeakers, and even the Eminent Technology LFT-8b, because they don't have the structural weakness of the large pieces of MDF that the Maggies do. For them, Mye is the only way to go!
Agree! just looking at the pictures you can tell is a more solid foundation as I mentioned before. My doubt is about price to performance ratio with the cheaper Magnepan. Can the price of a stand costing basically the same amount of money as the speakers (almost for the MMG) will justify that investment? Will the improvement be that great? That said seems to be a good value for the 3.7 and above. Just an opinion!
