Return to Planar Speaker Asylum
76.178.31.212
Several of my audio buddies have seen my SMGa's and both separately commented that they had never seen nor heard of the trim that my speakers came in. "Magnepan" plaque is located on the top of the frame.
Could this have been a limited edition or have others seen these before? I bought from the original owners family who said he purchased around 1990.
Follow Ups:
I have been a fan of the 'custom shop' idea for a while but don't see Magnepan have the urge or manpower to make factory custom a part of the plan.
Too much is never enough
I was a Magnepan dealer for many years. They were available in that option of trim.My store demo pair was in that finish.

According to an old brochure, they were also available in a chrome finish!
I would do just about anything to get my hands on a pair of SMGa's with either finish. The dreaded Wife Acceptance Factor would likely be a non-issue if Maggies only sported chrome or brass frames.Who ever thought Maggies could be "audio jewelry".
Wendell, please bring these back!!
