thank you for letting me know that you have heard the Magtech.
That Plinius amp is 'under the radar'!

I don't think the Plinius and the Magtech are of the same caliber. The Plinius is a top line product based on circuits from award winning separates. If it is anything like the SA series I heard before it is rather hard to beat. Pricing might be more interesting for you locally.
In the US they end up being rather costly.
The plinius effortlessly controls them with finesse and air-the space, air, soundstage and power on demand is all effortless and natural you are there type sound-been at this for over 20 years and I am seriously blown away
I foolishly sold my 8200MkII a few years ago. Recently looking, but failing to find a good deal on a Hiato, Hautonga, or even 9200 ... so ended up re-buying an 8200MkII. Happy with combination of tube-like qualities without sacrificing SS qualities at seemingly good value/cost ... all points very personal/subjective of course. May pull trigger on a big pair of Maggies soon, and see if they play nice.
Without music, life would be a mistake.

Gsb,
So, to summarize, you have had Magtech and Plinius in your system and greatly prefer the latter? Would you care to elaborate more on the sonic differences? Pros and Cons? Any other comparisons that you made along the journey?
I upgraded to the Magtech from early-version Odyssey Kismet in Stratos mono blocks and was stunned at the improvement--way less grain, better bass, better soundstsge, no harshness even at high volume. The only things that the Odysseys did better were micro details and boogie factor (Odysseys may have been warmer).I just shipped my 3.7's back to Magnepan today for the i upgrade and am curious about the improvement, if any.

Please post your thoughts on the I upgrade-I am thinking of sending them in but don't wanna be without them for that long:-) if it's a no brainier I might but in my room with my gear I remain in audio bliss-keep us updated-best in listening!
