I'm not sure what the objective was, but it wouldn't be what I'd do.
My guess would be it's the same objective Dr. West has with using heavy tubular steel frames for the U-1PX stats. :)

No, I think not. At least not in the same integrated structural aspect.
I think what we have here is the touted wood frame scheme just taken well beyond the advantage envelope it can provide. Structurally, obviously solid as a rock, but there are acoustic impacts created by this that may or may not be advantageous. I suspect the latter.
