So I was looking at ceilings today and the one I saw online looks like a coffered ceiling (all the squares are recessed by about 2.5" to give a dimensional look)... They are actually made of a pvc - flexible ... But not the fiberboard I am used to with ceilings. So I was thinking of roxul or fiberglass in the ceiling. What do you guys think of that? I think the dimensionality would help the sound - but I am unsure of the thin pvc product it is made of. But then wonder if the fiberglass or roxul would off set that.
Opinions??
Follow Ups:
If these tiles are not designed for acoustic performance then you can't predict what it will do for sound. The pvc itself would be reflective as opposed to the fiberboard which is absorptive. I would not use them.
Thanks Satie. I definitely take your advice seriously. I was hesitant as well and wanted others opinions. It looks cool. Is expensive. But wondered if the material made it a non starter
