I'm in Australia and can't find any pair of 63 stands, so far.I do have plenty of Oregon boards long enough to build a 'copy' of the One-Thing Audio 'George' stands, but would like to provide an inset section to fit the base into somewhat more securely.
I have at last found OTA's email address and will try the idea on them.
------------------------------------------------------------------------Why? Well, I am buying a pair of serviced 63s soon. Got hooked by the loaner 63s I had a couple years back. I intend to run them off one of my rebuilt LEAK ST20s. see link below.
The one with just 3 470uf 400V caps - now in UL mode - gives 16Wpc 20-20 RMS. It's a small room. It is PLL filtered 1st order @150Hz.
The pentode mode amp will do bass-only duty, but 3rd order LP @150hz. Later I will try ~80hz 1st/3rd. The bass speakers will be two pairs of the 2-way spheres, for the moment.
In the longer run I will finish my big sealed double-walled sub-woofer boxes - which are still waiting in the garage for their clam-shelled drivers also bought years ago <|>.

You can still get GOOGLE SKETCHUP and draw 'em yourself.
Too much is never enough
Crosby stands are probably what you are looking for. They look just like the Gradient woofer but the 63 sits inside the stands. They were spiked and had an enclosure for adding weights to the base. You could specify how high that you wanted the stands to be. I think that most were 14 to 17 inches off the ground. Mike
And, see if a clean cut to recess the base into is within my skill set. A far bigger - wider and deeper base - with spikes through the carpet and foam.
Possibly a little higher than 10" total.

I have the "Stand and Deliver" stands. The screws that go through the stand, then into the bottom base of the Quads, pull it quite snug.
Similarly, screws through the stands that you are making will do the same.
I don't believe recessing the base will do anything further but add additional work for yourself.
You'll get a better idea once you have a good look at the Quad base, and then make up your mind from there.
I also notice, at least on my Quads, that the base is slightly contoured. (It widens at the bottom.) So if you do decide to recess it, there is no point going very deep.
Lastly, my stands came with small rubber ring spacers at each point where the screw goes through between the top of the stand and the bottom plate of the base. I don't know if this is because the stand and base plates are metal (electric shock?), or to decouple the stand from the speaker. Not sure if your stands have these or not? I can send a picture of what I mean if you like?
Hope some of this helps!
Enjoy your speakers! I've had the same pair for 30 years!
Cheers!
